Hi. I am about to replace a head gasket on my Honda Accord 1996. It is the same sohc engine just a 2.2 vtec. can I use the same technique to replace the HG?

What about EGR?It gives same issue.

Wow you have a very good explanation.

My only complaint is the following since you had the heads off already. It would’ve been a good time to change the lifters even though nothing was wrong with them. It would’ve been cheaper to just get that out-of-the-way and change them because they are notorious for lifter problems. And second, you should’ve just changed the push rods as well, even though they look good they don’t cost that much but other than that, it was good video

I always wondered why block and head can’t be a single piece. The pressure, heat and gas plus the stress on bolts are all because of the two pieces bolted together.

Is there a way to test when the head gasket is going to go bad? I'm trying to decide if I need to sell the car before the head gasket blows. I just spent $3300 replacing the brake actuator and I can't afford another expensive repair, and I'd rather sell while I can still get something for it.

I just purchased a 2012 ct200h 2 weeks ago with 150k miles I drove it for approximately 1000 miles and I started noticing that exact shaking from the video. They told me it could be bad spark plugs spark plugs and had those changed they also mentioned the same thing that it can be bad coils but they confirmed that it wasn't neither after they replaced the plugs and tested the coils. The mechanic said he's going to try to change out the cylinder number 2 because it's still showing up on his OBD scanner. As of now I have not been losing coolant. Am I being scammed? Is it going to be the head gasket and it's just in the initial stages of breaking down ?? Can someone please help I would truly appreciate it

So do you adjust the Valves with the Head on the Bench? Do you double check the valve lash after the timing belt is on or do you feel confident to just install and assemble? I am working on a 2010 Forrester SOHC. Your video's have been very helpful. I have my Heads ready to go back in. I had them decked at the machine shop and I just adjusted the valves Ready to go back on. Thanks.

Everything is good but doing my research I didn't see or hear anything correctly about completely how to remove the rocker arms before you remove them like " top dead center " and once you reinstall them by intake and exhaust by rotation crankshaft in a sequence or what your video says just bolt them down to 22ft pounds and your good to go with no issues????
